Flying Falcons Guard the Grapes

Falcon kites are soaring above Char Vale again this harvest season, to protect the ripening fruit from birds that delight in the sweet, Green Valley of the Russian River, Pinot Noir grapes.

The pictures here are of various kites positioned around the vineyard. Since the birds are smart and soon realize that the "falcon" is staying in one area, we have to move the kites around regularly to simulate different flight patterns.

One of the pictures below has a real raptor circling and checking out the kites. Can You spot it?

You will also enjoy our other medal winning Pinot Noir wines, Pinot Gris, Rose of Pinot Noir, and Chardonnay, as well as our new Riesing.
